Seventh Prostar Convention




The 7 th National Prostar Convention was held at the Swiss Garden Hotel, Kuantan, Pahang from 4-7 september 2003. This yearly convention is held in honour of all Prostar Club members who have whole-heartedly helped in the spread of information regarding HIV/AIDS to adolescents and the local population.

For the year 2003, Pahang was selected to be the venue for the 7 th National level convention which was officially launched by Y.B. Dato' Seri Dr. Suleiman B. Mohamed, Deputy Minister of Health , Malaysia on September 5, 2003.

OBJECTIVES  

  • Provide Prostar Club members at branch level, the opportunity to learn procedure, strategy and new effective methods in carrying out educational activities.

  • Provide opportunity to Prostar Club members to discuss new issues concerning HIV/AIDS, problems in execution, prevention and control of HIV/AIDS amongst the adolescent group.

  • Provide opportunity to meet at branch level, interact and exchange ideas concerning the Prostar programme.

  • Reward branch members who have played an active part in HIV/AIDS education through a special award.

  • To select new committee members and discuss problems faced by the club.

THEME

he theme of the convention was ‘Good behavior of the adolescent, the root to a brighter generation.' This meant that behavior is an essential factor in shaping the minds, actions and responsibilities for self, family and the nation of today's youth.

ACTIVITIES  

In addition to the official gathering, a number of complementary activities were included;

  • Project presentation & seminar.

  • Friendly football match.

  • Telematch/sports.

  • Cultural presentation.

  • Exhibition.

  • Innovative project.

  • Dialogue sessions.
