The PROSTAR Coordinator

The Health Education Officer at the level of the Ministry of Health is the PROSTAR Coordinator at Ministry level, The State Health /AIDS Education Officer is the PROSTAR Coordinator at State level and the District Health Education Officer or other Officers assigned or directed by the District Health Officer is the PROSTAR Coordinator at District level.

Functions of the PROSTAR Coordinator.

The PROSTAR Coordinator at Ministry level is responsible to the Policy and management that includes monitoring and giving feedbacks as well as making assessment. The Coordinator too will act for as a PROSTAR Advisor at Ministry level. The PROSTAR Coordinator at State level has the responsibility of coordinating and getting activities done by organizing training programs, monitoring, giving feedbacks, making assessment and acts as a PROSTAR Advisor at State level.

The PROSTAR Coordinator at District level has the responsibility of coordinating, plays the role of a Mediator, registers the Club as well as its members, monitors activities at the district level, making assessments as well as acts as a PROSTAR advisor at district level.

Monitoring

  • Monitoring is carried out in order to assess the effectiveness of the activities that has been carried out continuously according to the AIDSED reten / format which has to be submitted to the Coordinator according to the stipulated time period, i.e. 3 (three) months

  • The PROSTAR Computerized Information system (PROSTARNet) will have to be updated by the State / District Coordinator for the purpose of monitoring every week.

  • Impact assessment on behaviors is done through research every 5 (five) years.
