Trainning
Before being initiated into the PRS, ‘Pembimbing Rakan Sebaya' programme, Prostarians undergo intensive training. The training is to ensure that they attain a high level of proficiency in communication and are thus able to interact more effectively with other PRS in carrying out their duties.
PROSTAR member are given skills training and equipped with knowledge. Training activities include; PROSTAR Facilitator training.
  • PROSTAR Adolescent training.

  • PROSTAR Most Promising Adolescent training.

  • PPROSTAR School training.

  • Motivation training.

  • Leadership training.

  • Religion/spiritual training.

  • Counseling

Four training manuals, updated from time to time, are used in PROSTAR training programmes at state and district levels. All training activities are monitored by State AIDS Officers and State Health Education Officers. When first launched in November 1996, until en of 2002, PROSTAR has completed 917 training sessions throughout Malaysia and has successfully initiated 49,013 adolescents into its PRS PROSTAR programme.

In the year 2002 alone, 137 training sessions were executed involving 8,680 PRS appointments. As at end of 2002, there were 663 PROSTAR Clubs, 117 at district and 716 at school levels throughout the country. Don't worry! You're not late.
